This page is general information, not medical or legal advice. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about your own care.

We only do local pickup in San Bernardino and Riverside County right now. So for LA sellers, mail-in is the way to go. Here's how it works.

Who in LA can use mail-in?

Anyone in LA County. That includes the San Fernando Valley, the San Gabriel Valley, East LA, South LA, the South Bay and Long Beach.

There's no minimum. One box or fifty, the steps are the same.

Mail-in also works if you'd rather not meet anyone. You pack at home, drop the box off and get paid to your bank.

You can also mail in for a family member. If you're clearing out a parent's closet in Glendale or Torrance, the steps are the same. Just make sure the supplies weren't paid for by Medicare or Medi-Cal.

What can you sell?

Here's what we buy, sealed and unexpired:

  • Dexcom G7 10-day and 15-day sensors, and Stelo
  • FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus, Libre 3 and Libre 2 Plus sensors
  • Omnipod 5 pods and starter kits, and DASH 5-packs and 10-packs
  • Test strips from Contour, Accu-Chek, FreeStyle Lite and OneTouch Ultra
  • Tandem AutoSoft and TruSteel sets, and BD pen needles

We don't buy expired or opened items, insulin, or anything marked "NOT FOR RESALE." We also don't buy supplies paid for by Medicare or Medi-Cal.

See what we buy for the full list, including box sizes. If you have something that isn't listed, send a photo and ask. We'll tell you plainly whether we can take it.

Selling diabetic supplies in Los Angeles

  1. Send photos of each box and its date through our quote form, by text to (909) 619-5262 or by email.
  2. Get a written quote from sell@goldenstatediabeticsupply.com.
  3. Accept it, and we email our shipping address.
  4. Ship the box with tracking. You pay for shipping.
  5. We pay by Zelle within 48 hours of delivery if the items match the description.

If the products aren't what you described, we won't pay for them, and they won't be sent back. Clear photos and an honest description avoid that.

Before you send photos, run through this quick check:

  • Each box is sealed, with the seal whole.
  • The date next to the hourglass is still ahead.
  • The box isn't crushed, wet or torn.
  • Nothing is marked "NOT FOR RESALE."
  • Medicare or Medi-Cal didn't pay for it.

Not sure where the date is? Our guide on finding the REF, LOT and expiration date shows each spot on the label.

How should you pack and ship?

Use a sturdy box with padding, so nothing slides. Don't tape or write on the product boxes. Leave the pharmacy stickers on, and black out your name with a marker if you like.

Pick any service with tracking. USPS Priority Mail is a common choice. USPS says it includes USPS Tracking and up to $100 of insurance on most shipments.

Ship early in the week, so the box doesn't sit over a weekend. Don't leave it in a hot car. Inland parts of the county can get hot in summer, so drop the box at the counter instead of a curbside mailbox. Our guide on shipping diabetic supplies safely covers each step.

Step Tip
Before you pack Take photos of every box

Why don't we pick up in LA?

Our pickup area is San Bernardino and Riverside County. Mail-in lets us buy from LA sellers without long drives in traffic.

It also means you don't need to set up a meeting. You can pack the box on your own time and drop it off when it suits you, whether that's before work or on a Saturday morning.

We still treat LA sellers the same way. You get the same written quote, the same no-fee promise and a real person to talk to.

A real-life example

Say you live in Pasadena and switched from a Libre 3 to a Dexcom G7. You have six sealed boxes of Libre 3 sensors with almost a year left.

You check each serial number at FreeStyleCheck.com first, since some Libre 3 sensors are part of a correction. All six come back clear.

You send photos and get a written quote. You accept, pack the boxes and ship them Monday. They arrive Wednesday, and your Zelle payment shows up Thursday.

You never had to leave the neighborhood, except for a quick stop at the post office. And the boxes went to someone who can use them before they expire.

What about used sharps in LA?

Used needles and lancets don't go in the trash. The FDA says to put them in a sharps container right after use.

LA County Public Works runs a household hazardous waste program with drop-off options. California also offers a free mail-back sharps container through Sharps Take Back California.

Questions before you ship? Call or text (909) 619-5262. You'll talk with a real person, and you can confirm any offer came from us.

We never ask sellers to pay a fee, share a password or send money. If anyone claiming to be us does, it isn't us. Hang up and call the number above.
