How to Sell FreeStyle Libre Sensors
We buy sealed diabetic supplies for cash. We do not sell supplies.
To sell FreeStyle Libre sensors, make sure each box is sealed and unexpired, check it against Abbott's recall lookup, and send photos for a quote. We buy the Libre 3 Plus, Libre 3 and Libre 2 Plus. You can sell to us by local pickup or by mail.

This page is general information, not medical or legal advice. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about your own care.
Here's how to tell which Libre you have, what to check first and how the sale works.
Which Libre sensors can you sell?
We buy these when they're sealed and unexpired:
- FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus
- FreeStyle Libre 3
- FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus
We don't buy the older 14-day Libre or the original Libre 2. We also don't buy expired sensors, opened boxes or boxes marked "NOT FOR RESALE."
Abbott says the original Libre 3 was discontinued in the U.S. after September 30, 2025. If you still have some, Abbott says you can use them until they expire. That's why sealed, unexpired Libre 3 boxes can still sell.
Which Libre do you have?
The name is printed on the front of the box. Look for "3 Plus," "3" or "2 Plus" after "FreeStyle Libre."
The model number helps, too. FDA notices list Libre 3 sensor models 72081-01 and 72080-01. They list 3 Plus models 78768-01 and 78769-01.
Take a clear photo of the front and the label. That way, we can confirm the model when we send your quote.
Still not sure? Our guide on Libre 3 vs 3 Plus vs 2 Plus shows where each one differs on the box.
Check for the Libre recall first
This step matters more than any other. In November 2025, Abbott announced a correction for some Libre 3 and 3 Plus sensors that could read falsely low.
Here's how to check yours:
- Find the serial number. The FDA says it's on the label on the bottom of the applicator or carton.
- Go to FreeStyleCheck.com.
- Enter the serial number for each box.
- Set aside any box that comes back as affected.
- Keep a note of which boxes came back clear.
Abbott says affected sensors shouldn't be used, so don't try to sell them. Contact Abbott about those boxes instead. The FDA notice says Libre 2 Plus sensors aren't part of this correction.
What makes a Libre box sellable?
We look at a few things:
- The seal is whole. No tears, cuts or tape.
- The date is still ahead. Look for the hourglass symbol on the label.
- The box isn't crushed, wet or faded.
- Medicare or Medi-Cal didn't pay for it.
More time before the date usually means a better offer. So it's best to sell soon after you know you won't use them. A box with a year left is easier to sell than one with a month left.
Store boxes inside your home until you sell. Abbott says Libre sensor kits go between 36°F and 82°F. Never leave them in a hot car or garage.
How to sell FreeStyle Libre sensors
The steps are short:
- Check each box for a whole seal, a future date and the recall result.
- Send photos of the front of each box and the label with the date. Use our quote form, text (909) 619-5262 or email.
- Get a written quote. There's no fee and no pressure to accept.
- In San Bernardino or Riverside County, we meet at a public place and pay by cash, Zelle, Venmo or PayPal.
- Everywhere else, you mail the box after accepting the quote. You pay shipping, and we email our address.
For mail-in, we pay by Zelle within 48 hours of delivery if the items match the description. Items that don't match aren't paid for and aren't sent back. See the mail-in steps for packing tips.
Leave the pharmacy stickers on. You can black out your name with a marker. We remove and shred the stickers ourselves.
Ship early in the week, so the box doesn't sit in a hot truck over a weekend. Use a padded box and keep your tracking number until you're paid.
A real-life example
Say your doctor moved you from a Libre 3 to a Dexcom G7. You have six sealed boxes of Libre 3 sensors with nine months left.
First, you check each serial number at FreeStyleCheck.com. Five come back clear, and one is affected. You set the affected box aside and call Abbott about it.
You also check the dates. All five have plenty of time left, and the seals are whole. Then you text photos of the five clear boxes. You get a written quote, accept it and mail the box with tracking. Your Zelle payment comes within 48 hours of delivery.
What if your new pump uses Libre?
Abbott says the Libre 3 Plus and Libre 2 Plus work with select insulin pumps. If your new pump uses Libre, you may want to keep the Plus sensors and sell only what you can't use.
If you switched away from Libre for good, everything sealed, unexpired and clear of the recall can go. Ask your pharmacy to stop refills, so no more extras arrive.
Never sell a sensor you've worn or an applicator that's been used. Only sealed boxes can be sold.
