Can I Sell Dexcom G6 Sensors and Transmitters?

We buy sealed diabetic supplies for cash. We do not sell supplies.

Updated October 29, 2026

You can sell Dexcom G6 transmitters that are sealed and never started, and G6 receivers that are sealed and never set up, to us. We aren't buying G6 sensors right now. Everything must be unexpired and not marked "NOT FOR RESALE."

This page is general information, not medical or legal advice. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about your own care.

Many people moved from the G6 to the G7, so G6 boxes often sit unused in a closet. Here's what you can sell and how.

How is G6 different from G7?

The G6 uses two parts: a sensor and a separate transmitter that snaps on top. The G7 is an all-in-one sensor and transmitter, so there's nothing extra to attach.

That's why G6 users often have two kinds of boxes. Sensor boxes hold the sensors. Transmitter boxes hold one transmitter each.

When people upgrade, Dexcom's transition page notes that G7 users don't need a separate transmitter. So any sealed G6 transmitters left over won't fit the new system.

Receivers work the same way. A G6 receiver is made for the G6, so it won't help on a G7. If you got a receiver and never set it up, it may still help another G6 user.

Not sure which system a box is for? The name is printed on the front. Read it before you sort.

Which G6 items do we buy?

Here's what we buy and what we don't:

Item Do we buy it?
G6 transmitter Yes, if sealed and never started
G6 receiver Yes, if sealed and never set up or powered on
G6 sensors Not right now
G5 anything No
Opened or used receivers No

We aren't buying G6 sensors because our buyers aren't taking them right now. That can change, so ask if you have a large lot.

We also buy Dexcom Stelo and G7 sensors. See our Dexcom G6 and Stelo page for details.

When can you sell Dexcom G6 items?

Three things matter most for a transmitter:

  1. Sealed. The box must be closed, with the seal whole.
  2. Never started. Once a transmitter is started, its use period begins. We only buy ones that were never started.
  3. In date. Transmitter boxes have a use-by date next to the hourglass symbol. That symbol comes from the ISO 15223-1 label standard.

More time left on the date helps. So does a clean box with no dents or water marks. A box that expires next month is hard for any buyer to take.

The REF number matters too. G6 boxes come in a few versions. The REF number on the label tells you which one you have. Offers can be different for each version.

Send a clear photo of the label with the REF, LOT and date in focus. Our guide on finding the REF, LOT and expiration date shows where each one sits.

A real-life example

Say your doctor moved you to the G7 last spring. You still have two sealed G6 transmitters, one sealed receiver and four boxes of G6 sensors.

Sort them first, on a table with good light. The transmitters and receiver go in one pile, since we can quote those. The sensors go in another, since we aren't buying them right now.

Check that each transmitter box is sealed and in date. Then take photos and ask for a quote. Keep the sensor boxes out of the photos, so the quote is only for what we buy. If you're not sure about the sensors, ask your doctor or a local clinic whether they can use them.

What should you check before asking?

Run through this list:

  • The box says G6, not G7 or G5.
  • The seal is whole.
  • The use-by date is clear and still ahead.
  • The box isn't crushed, wet or torn.
  • The receiver was never set up or powered on.
  • Medicare or Medi-Cal didn't pay for it.

We don't buy supplies paid for by Medicare or Medi-Cal. If you aren't sure who paid, check the pharmacy label or ask your pharmacy.

Be honest about what you have. If a box doesn't match your photos or description, we can't pay for it. Clear photos up front avoid that.

How do you get a quote?

It takes three steps:

  1. Take photos. Get the front of each box, a close-up of the label and one group shot.
  2. Send them. Use our quote form, text (909) 619-5262 or email sell@goldenstatediabeticsupply.com.
  3. Get a written quote. There's no cost and no pressure to accept.

We look at the product, the count, the dates and the condition of each box. Then we send a written quote by email or text.

In San Bernardino and Riverside County, we meet at a public place and pay cash, Zelle, Venmo or PayPal. Anywhere else in the U.S., you can mail them in. You pay shipping, and we send our address after you accept the quote.

How should you store G6 boxes?

Keep them in a cool, dry closet inside your home. Don't leave them in a hot car or a damp bathroom.

Keep boxes flat and sealed. Crushed or wet boxes are harder to sell. Stack them so the labels face out, and you can check dates without moving anything.

Check the dates every few months. If a transmitter is getting close to its date, decide soon. Waiting rarely helps, since time on the label is what a buyer looks at first. Keep the pharmacy sticker on, too. You can black out your name with a marker, and we remove and shred the sticker ourselves.

Can you sell a Dexcom G6 receiver?

Yes, if it's sealed and has never been opened. We buy sealed G6 receivers along with sealed, never-started G6 transmitters. We don't buy opened or used receivers.

Dexcom says it stopped making the G6 after July 1, 2026, so many people who switched to the G7 now have a spare G6 receiver. Send a photo of the sealed box for a free written quote.
